A special letter to you

Dear Friend,

I write to present to you today the love of God which surpasses all understanding. I don’t know whether you’ve ever heard about God or even know He exists or whether you walk with Him daily or whether something has happened for which you blame him but I would like to let you know this today that God really loves you and longs to walk with you.

Sometimes things happen that we don’t understand: like a young person dies, or there is an attack where innocent people die but whatever it is I am convinced of this fact that all things work together for good with those who love God and who are called according to his purpose.

Now, recently, I was told, and am sharing with you, that the verse didn’t say we understand but we know. Can you imagine that? It means we might not understand why things happen the way they do but we know there is an all powerful God who knows the beginning from the end who is in charge of everything. That’s amazing isn’t it?

When you look at your own body, have you ever asked yourself, why your hands  are the way they are? They look so wonderfully designed; right down to your finger nails! Not to mention your  hair, your face, in fact your whole body. Each part is absolutely unique. And guess what, of all the people who have ever lived or will ever live, there is none who is exactly as you are. That must take a lot of creativity but God does all that! You look at nature and you are even more amazed! Everything is absolutely wonderful and well created.

This is the God I present to you- the one who loved you and I so much that he sent his son Jesus Christ to come and pay the price for our sins so that we could come before him justified and righteous.

All he needs from us is that we believe that he exists and is the rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Then that he sent his son Jesus to come and die for our sins. We believe this in our hearts and we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and voila! He writes our names in his book of life and grants us his spirit so we can begin the most exciting journey of our lives- the Christian life. (It sounds so simple it seems crazy- but it’s true!)

It’s a wonderful life- full of ups and downs; valleys and hills; rivers and deserts; but through it all God works in and through us. Through all our battles God is with us: we never have to fight them alone. The amazing thing is that the whole Christian life is God’s idea because He made us for himself and our hearts are restless until they rest in him. And we can never do it on our own so he comes to us and leads us on. He only asks that we surrender to him and obey him and most importantly, trust him.

He guides us through prayer, fellowship, His word and service. May He be our guide and stay in all we do.

I sought for a man and still I search.
I sought for a man who would stand in the gap and intercede for my people-who would go on his knees and pray that I would turn from my wrath and not punish as I had said I would.
Yet I found none.
Instead my people were chasing after the latest fashions; they went searching for men who would tell them what they wanted to hear.
They sought to turn me into an ATM or a vending machine.
They laughed at those who onto my laws.
They mocked holiness-which I greatly desire among my people.
They would not be bothered about what pleased me.
They sought only a little of me-only the parts they liked-lest their lives be changed.
Why, my people, why?
How long must I yearn?
How long must I wait and watch
How long must my heart bleed for you?
Now-is the time for repentance-short though it is
Soon, my mercy will reach its end and my wrath will fall
Will no one pray?
Will my people never repent?
Did I send my son in vain?
In the name of grace you commit all manner of atrocities against my name.
Am I not the God of mercy and of justice?
Who will go on his knees and pray?
How can you have so much time for all other things but me-the LORD of time and of life?
Has your love grown so cold that you can no longer spend time with me?
How long must my son keep pleading for you and prunning you?
Can I never obtain fruit from the trees I myself planted?
What have you turned yourself into?
I asked you to keep yourselves separated yet for the supposed purpose of evangelising, you have embraced the would so much there is no distinction between the world and my church.
I called you to be salt and light, yet you have traded my treasures for chaff.
You have thrown out the baby with the bath water and left nothing.
Why? How long must I call out to you?
How long must you hear my word, read my word, talk about my word and yet never allow yourselves to be changed and never repent?
How long? How long?
Who will mourn for the sins of my people?
Who will weep for the coming destruction?
When will my people return to me-weeping and mourning-repenting of their sins?
Why?
How long will you watch things go awry?
How long must things go amiss?
Where is the LOVE- the distinguishing feature?
Where is my church? What is this caricature?
Empty yourselves
Come to me-I have longed for you.
Come and bring your failings
Come and bring your frailities
Come and bring your weakenesses
Come and bring your sins
Come to me-the lover of your soul-come to me-your redeemer
Return to me and I will return to you
I have longed for you
Come to me and find new mercy
Come to me and find new mercy
Come to me and find grace to overcome temptation
Come to me
Come to me and receive grace for holy and abundant living
Come to me-yes you have sinned-but I am He who forgives your sins and heals your diseases
I am He who has numbered all of your days and knew them before any of them ever came to me.
I am He who even now when you think all is gone know the plans I have for  you-the thoughts I think of you

29/1/11-Some thoughts about daily life

God isn't looking at giving you a fool proof long term plan
He's calling you to walk with him on a day to day basis-meditating on his word, obeying him and being open to his leading.
There are bends along the road-but those are the ones He uses to guide you along his path for your life-
They are opportunities for growth.
He uses every single incident to bring you to the place He wants you to be
Only trust and obey Him-daily
Study his word-day and night-meditate on it and obey it
Walk out all and with your head held up high-you are a child of God-walk in faith
You can do all things because Christ strengthens you
Practice self denial
Work hard -coz work is God's plan for your life
Fast and pray-it is necessary
Lose time from daily life-sleep, friends, pleasures- to study the word of God
God the extra mile for God-He loves it when you do
He sees your sorrow and He promises to restore your fortunes
Is He a God to be doubted-Is He not able t o do just as He has said He would do?
How do you bear fruit if there are no adverse circumstances?
How do you bear joy if there are no adverse circumstances?

Jer 1:18-19

Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land- against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land.
They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the LORD.

Challenge

You want to do big things yet you do not want to start small or well- you do not want to be faithful in small things- who will give you big things to do
You sit here and think you are depressed
Are you so ungrateful taht you do not appreciate all that God has given you?
Do not rob God-He has invested in you and must reap your fruit.
What account of yourself are you going to give God when He calls you?
Do you think it was just your own choice that you stayed on campus?
Come out and let the glory of God in you shine out
Why do you delight in grieving God and his Spirit?
You must speak the word of God
You seek happiness-find it in God

I have placed you here as a light, a torch, a servant, a prophet, a role model.
Do you want mey people to perish because of you? Because you did not speak? Did not do? Did not live?
Come to me-I am THE LORD, the Almighty
What can I not do?
Come to me and surrender all you are and all you have
Come and surrender all to me

There's too much activity-give me room to operate
How can you ask me to do something new in your life when your hearts are so hardened to my word?
How long will you cry out to me yet refuse to obey my word.
What more must I tell you
Are you so hard of hearing?
The only gods you worship are yourselves and not me.
You are trying too hard and all is not working because you have not surrendered to me-surrender to me and walk in my ways-in obedience that you may be renewed and the church as well
Open the door of your hearts and of your group that I may come in to reign-You cannot worship me and serve your own gods

Woe to you who do not weep about the ruin of my body but are instead busy with your studies, families and boyfriends
Repent lest my wrath come upon you also
Have you forgotten so soon-
your tears, your prayers and all that you used to do for me?
Is your love so fickle?
Do not make me repent of blessing you with your heart's desires.
Why should you not care about the ruin of my house?
I tolerate no other lovers-stop chasing after those gods- they bring no satisfaction.

You have spoken about me superficially but neglected my true life transforming power.
Your sacrifices are an abomination to me.
I detest your songs, your hypocrisy and your frivolity.
How long will it take you to turn to me, repent and be forgiven?
How long must I wait while you chase your own gods?
Beware lest my wrath come upon you suddenly.
Have you no fear of God?
Let righteousness roll down like a stream; let justice, mercy and peace reign in your hearts.
How can you serve me Sundays and go back to your old ways during the week?
I tolerate no rivals-I want all of you.
Weep for your sins and those of your fathers.
Weep; Perhaps I may relent and not down my wrath.
How can you not see that all is not well?
Are you so hardhearted and hard of hearing?
Have none of my words penerated your heart?
The punishment will be worse for those who know but did nothing-beware
